RE: neuroimaging meta-analysis in SDM based on coordinates only

Hi there,

Is it possible to use coordinates only as input for a neuroimaging meta-analysis? Some studies don't report associated effect sizes for the coordinates.

I am conducting a meta-analysis and want to use SDM primarily to

a) compare results from SDM with other meta-analysis softeware

b) conduct sensitivity analyses (i.e., jackknife) and meta-regression analyses (considering different diagnoses, and demographic variables)

Thanks,

Jess

Dear Jan,

You don't need to have the specific effect sizes of the studies, but you need to have the direction. For example, you know it was a decrease of GMV in the coordinate, so the .txt file should look like this:

34,-6,22,n

You use n for negative values (decreases, deactivation for the case group), and p for positive (increase, activation)

Best,

Lydia
