Making an Average Brain
Hello,
I'm working with BrainAligner and have had some success in warping to a specific NC82, but would like to build an average target brain. Is there a plugin within Vaa3D, or a method elsewhere, that can be used to build an average NC82, like the mean brain in the BrainAligner paper?
Thanks for any insight,
Katherine

RE: Making an Average Brain
A mean brain can be generated by just overlaying multiple aligned
brain images together followed by dividing the total number.
You can use the Matlab IO toolbox to load images and do so.

RE: Making an Average Brain
Hello again, and thank you for the
response.
Would it be possible to get the Matlab script that you used in order to make the average brain that is used in the paper?
Thanks again for any help with this,
Katherine

RE: Making an Average Brain
Hello,
Sorry to bother you again with this. When you say "overlaying multiple aligned brain images," do you mean globally aligned brains? Or would they need to be locally aligned as well?
If you have any pointers for the process in general, they would be much appreciated, as Matlab and image processing are new to me.
Thanks again,
Katherine
