image conversion for input into SDM
Dear SDM expert,
I am trying to perform a meta analysis with original statistical maps and peaks. The maps are from FSL (Z-stats) and SPM and hence I have different stats and different dimensions. I have two questions (question 1 has 3 sub-questions):
-am I correct (based on previous feedback on this forum) that I (1) only have to convert FSL Z-stats .nii to T-stats .nii; (2) I can use the T-stats from SPM (converted from img/hdr to .nii using MRIcron) without further conversion and (3) I don't have to worry about the different dimensions of these statistical maps (i.e. SDM does not require identical dimesnions of image input) ?
-if I use "convert images" in SDM it correctly recognizes that the FSL images are Z-stats. However, when I tell SDM to convert to T-stats, I enter an infinite loop (where SDM keeps asking whether I want to convert to T). How do I proceed?
I have tried converting images using the latest version of SDM on Windows and MacOSX
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
Best,
Jurriana

RE: image conversion for input into SDM
In the mean time I solved one problem (using FSL maps). I share it
here so other users can benefit.
FSL also produces T-stats statistical maps in the gfeat directory: these maps SDM can use without conversion. In case of SPM T-maps; if you convert them to .nii.gz using MRIcron SDM will read them but you have to specificity the degrees of freedom. In the sdm_table just use the format [name] withou extensions as you do for text files. In the home direcory of SDM, use the format [name].nii.gz.

Jurriaan

RE: image conversion for input into SDM
Dear Jurriana,
There was a bug with the images conversion on SDM. Thanks for pointing it out!
We just uploaded a new version (5.141) which should correct the bug. It is already available for Win64, OSX and Linux. You'll find it in the downloads section of the web.
In case you download and try it, could you please confirm it solved the bug?
Thanks,
Anton
