Your advice on BRAIN IMAGING TECHNIQUES
Dear NITRC members,

- What kind of imaging system do we need for medical implants in and around the brain?
- What about 3D or other new imaging technology?

Appreciate your advice,
Wietse

RE: Your advice on BRAIN IMAGING TECHNIQUES
Hi Wietse,

What type of placement do you need to do? Does it need any anatomical reference placement? Are you doing any imaging guided placement? Do you know the image modality you would be using?
It really depends on all those details.

There are different open source tools that can help with imaging based measurements, but I can give more precise recommendations once you share a bit more info.

Thanks!
Beatriz

RE: Your advice on BRAIN IMAGING TECHNIQUES
Hi Beatriz,

Thank you for your reply.

The imaging system will be particularly used for the brain, the cranium (skull).

We have an outdated image system CT Ultra Fast Ceramic (UFC) with a temporal resolution, up to 150 ms. An isotropic and cross-plane resolution of 0.33 mm. We want an imager that produces better detail and higher resolution pictures.

Perhaps OCT technology?
