SLice-Oriented MOtion COrrection released
Scripts for performing the SLOMOCO algorithm have been released under the PESTICA project page. SLOMOCO is a Slice-oriented motion correction that obtains the 6DOF motion for every slice independently. This lets you see the motion for each slice. The volumetric motion parameters are essentially an average of the slice measures over each volume, and if the motion changes direction during a volume or is fast within a volume, then the volumetric motion will be wrong. The script inside the zipfile generates a metric of the average voxel displacement using these slicewise motion parameters, and this is more sensitive to motion corruption than any volumetric measure. SLOMOCO will help you characterize motion corruption more accurately. Give it a try and let us know your experience.
