I started to experience a strange issue for drag and drop file opening function of vaa3d on Mac 10.10. In short, for one file, suddenly I could not drag it to open it in Vaa3D. However, if I directly select open file, and then use dialog I can open it w/o a problem.

Then I found it is a known Mac 10.10 bug:
