RE: Single subject pre/post treatment analysis
Hi Kaitlin,
Yes, exactly. In the case where you have repeated measures pre/post for your controls as well, if you want to evaluate the pre vs. post differences in your control group you could select the subject-effects "patient" and "controls" (contrast [0 1]) and the conditions "pre" and "post" (contrast [-1 1] or [1 -1]). Last, if you want to evaluate the group by intervention interaction (i.e. compare the post-pre differences in your single patient vs the same differences observed in the control group) you would do that by selecting the subject effects "patient" and "controls" (contrast [1 -1]) and the conditions "pre" and "post" (contrast [-1 1]) and looking at the two-sided stats/results.
Hope this helps
Alfonso

Hi Alfonso,
Thanks! This is very helpful. For the second-level analyses in the situation of repeated measures for both patients and controls (2 sessions each), if I wanted to evaluate the pre vs. post differences with controls at zero, I assume that the "Between-subjects contrast" would be [1 0], and the "Between-conditions contrast" would be [-1 1] or [1 -1]. Is that correct?
Thanks!
Kaitlin
