How to Install JIST
Get MIPAV
- We currently support the nightly (or stable) build from December 15, 2009 or more recently. There were important bug fixes in MIPAV regarding NIFTI file format handling at this time.
- If possible, we strongly encourage use of a 64 bit version of mipav.
- Download it here: http://mipav.cit.nih.gov/
Get JIST
- Download a JAR from NITRC: http://www.nitrc.org/frs/?group_id=228
- Or build your own: jist:AntBuild
Install JIST
- Open MIPAV
- Select Plugins->Install Plugin
- Browse to the directory with the JIST jar file.
- Select the JIST jar file
- Press the right arrow button
- This step may take a minute. Please be patient.
- You should now see the jar file as a "selected class file".
- Click "Install Plugin(s)"
- The resulting process may take a while. MIPAV needs to decompress and verify all information in the jar. Please be patient.
- When the install is complete, you should see a status box:
- Restart MIPAV and verify that the JIST plugins were installed.
Running JIST
- When you first start JIST, you will be asked for a "Library Directory". You should specify an empty directory (a new one?) where JIST will be allowed to store a cache of module definitions. Typically, the first action when JIST has problems is to go to global preferences and select a new, EMPTY library directory. This will force a complete rebuild of the cache from source files. Note that the "rebuild library" is a fast option and will detect new modules, but it will not detect changes to existing modules - for example if you replaced an existing .class file with a new .class file.
