nitrc:Future User Guide - Browse Tools and Resources

NITRC offers the ability to browse hosted tools/resources by their assigned attributes. NITRC also offers the ability to quickly browse by top downloads and by most active.
Browsing by Attribute
An Attribute List and all the public tools/resources registered with NITRC are displayed by clicking the Tools & Resources main menu link or the Browse by Attribute sub-menu link. The Attribute List classifies tools/resources so that they can be found more easily. It allows you to browse the tools/resources by one of eight standard attributes:
- Domain
- Functionality
- Type of Resource
- License
- Development Status
- Intended Audience
- Operating System
- Supported Data Format
Each of these standard attributes is comprised of many sub-attributes.
You may select any of the the attributes shown to browse tools/resources by a particular attribute. The number next to the attribute name indicates the number of tools/resources with that assigned attribute (or one of its sub-attributes) based on your current attribute selection(s). If you need the definition of an attribute, click the Glossary link in the footer.
The tools/resources with the assigned attribute that you have selected are displayed to the right of the Attribute List. For information on the tool/resource list, refer to the Search: Tools/Resources results description in this User Guide.
Browsing by Top Downloads
A list of the most often downloaded tools/resources can be displayed by clicking the Browse by Top Downloads sub-menu link under the "Tools & Resources" main menu link. The Top Downloads page lists the tools/resources by name, ranking them in order starting with the tool/resource that has been downloaded the most. The list includes the number of times each tool/resource has been downloaded. You may click on the tool/resource name to get to the Summary page for that tool/resource.| Note: A script is run nightly to remove spybot downloads from the overall download count for each tool/resource. |
Browsing by Most Active
A list of the most active tools/resources can be displayed by clicking the Browse by Most Active sub-menu link under the "Tools & Resources" main menu link. The Most Active All Time Tools/Resources page lists the tools/resources by name, ranking them in order based on the average monthly activity percentile over the life of NITRC. You may click on the tool/resource name to get to the Summary page for that tool/resource.
