Bugs Affecting All Users
- Tracker change log incorrectly lists the Summary field when it has not been modified.
- WORKAROUND: Do not enter any special characters, like quotation marks, in the Summary field.
- Edit Skills Profile page does not allow a start date month that is later than the end date month (for example, start date October 2007 and end date March 2008).
- WORKAROUND: Delete the skill, and then reenter the skill with the correct dates.
- Docs main folder name is not changed when a tool/resource name is changed.
- WORKAROUND: Manually change the main folder name. Go to the Docs Admin page. Click "Add/Edit Document Groups." Select the main folder from the list of available document folders. Change the folder name and click the Edit button.
- File Release System administrators cannot add releases to hidden packages.
- WORKAROUND: On the Files Admin page, in the Releases of Packages section, change the status of the package from "hidden" to "active" and Update. Now, you can add the new release. If you still want the package to be hidden, go back to the Files Admin page, and change the status from "active" to "hidden."
- Backslash used in a tool/resource name or description is not displayed correctly in some e-mail messages.
- Long tool/resource title overflows the tool/resource menu box.
- WORKAROUND: Tool/resource administrators should put spaces and hyphens in their tool/resource titles to allow for wrapping. If possible, users should increase their screen resolution to allow titles to fit within the box.
- When a tool/resource administrator checks out the "CVSROOT" directory, modifies "config," and checks it back in, then "write" access to the repository could be lost.
- WORKAROUND: If you want to change the CVS configuration, please contact the NITRC administrator.
- The system allows a tool/resource administrator to create a mailing list using a tracker name, like "bugs" (tool/resource_name-bugs@www.nitrc.org). The system, however, already uses this e-mail address for the built-in tracker feature.
- WORKAROUND: Do not use any tool/resource tracker names for a mailing list. Contact the NITRC administrator to change a mailing list name.
- One Click Backup is not including MediaWiki attachments in the backups.
Bugs Affecting Internet Explorer Users
- Using Internet Explorer, form data may be lost. Recent versions of Internet Explorer (5.01, 6, and 7) suffer from a "back bug" that causes IE to lose form data following a specific series events. NITRC IE users should be aware of this bug as several NITRC forms will allow this series of events to occur thus resulting in loss of form data. Please visit http://magicm.awardspace.com/ie/1.php for more information.
- Using Internet Explorer, entered form data is cleared upon clicking the back button from an error page.
- WORKAROUND: Reenter the form data, fixing the previous error, and submit.
- Using Internet Explorer 7, clicking an empty RSS link results in an error. IE does not support DTDs (Document Type Definitions).
- Using Internet Explorer 6, the MediaWiki box alignments can get distorted when zooming in (CTRL +) or out (CTRL -) or resizing the page.
- WORKAROUND: Return to the default page display (CTRL 0) or reload the page.
- Using Internet Explorer 7, the images on the some pages are misplaced when zooming in (CTRL +) or out (CTRL -) or resizing the page. (http://www.boagworld.com/accessibility/the_problem_with_ie7_zoom/)
- WORKAROUND: Return to the default page display (CTRL 0) or reload the page. Upgrade to Internet Explorer 8.
- Using Internet Explorer, the Satisfaction Survey covers up some main menu items.
- WORKAROUND: Access a different page (for example, go Home) before accessing the menu item you really want. (Feedback can also be given through the Feedback page rather than the Satisfaction Survey.)
Bugs Affecting Firefox Users
- Formatting of some pages is distorted when zooming in (CTRL +) or out (CTRL -) or resizing the page.
- WORKAROUND: Return to the default page display (CTRL 0) or reload the page.
Bugs Affecting Opera Users
- Using Opera 9.22 and 9.24 on Mac OS X, the front page may show "Log In" in the top menu bar even when you are logged in. (This is not an issue with Opera 9.51. You may want to upgrade to the latest version.)
- WORKAROUND: Reduce caching. Go to Preferences -> Advanced -> History. Set "Check documents" to "Always."
Bugs Affecting Screen Reader Users
- Form labels in tables need to be explicitly associated with form controls for 508 compliance.
