The NITRC Community Home page is accessed through the main menu "Community" link or its "Home" sub-menu link. This page offers a quick glance at upcoming events and the latest news and discussions for the NITRC community. It provides links to areas of NITRC that may be of interest to the entire functional and structural neuroimaging community.

Community Forums: The NITRC Community open discussion forum gives registered users an opportunity to talk about NITRC, ask questions, and get answers from the functional and structural neuroimaging community. Visitors may browse and view NITRC Community forums, but users must be registered with NITRC to contribute to the discussions. The NITRC Community forum functionality is the same as that for individual tools/resources. Please refer to the Tool/Resource Feature: Forums section of this User Guide for more information on how to use forums.

Recently Active Forums: The most recently active forums are listed for each tool/resource with forum activity. The default display shows the most recent posting within NITRC at the top of this page. Changing the sort order may enable you to more easily find a recent discussion for a particular tool/resource or a particular topic. Once you have selected a forum or post title, the functionality is the same as that for individual tools/resources. Please refer to the Tool/Resource Feature: Forums section of this User Guide for more information on how to use forums.

Events: NITRC and the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) share a calendar of competitions, conferences, courses, symposiums, and workshops that is shown on the NITRC Events page. The calendar highlights upcoming events, and both upcoming events and upcoming deadlines are listed below the calendar. Only the first few lines of the event description are shown (up to 160 characters). Any event description that has been truncated can be viewed by hovering your mouse over the description. Clicking on the link for an event will take you to the INCF site for more information. Clinking on the "more events" button at the bottom of the list will take you the the INCF site for a full list of events. As a registered INCF user, you may submit an event to the INCF calendar by clicking the "Submit an Event" button.

News: The NITRC Community News page lists all news bulletins that have been approved by the NITRC moderator for posting to the NITRC Community. These are the same news items that are displayed on the NITRC Home page. Some of these news bulletins are pulled from postings for individual tools/resources, and some of these bulletins are from direct submissions to the NITRC Community. Only the first few lines of text are shown (up to 180 characters). Any news bulletin that has been truncated can be viewed by hovering your mouse over the text. Visitors may browse and view NITRC Community news, but users must be registered with NITRC to contribute to the discussions. The functionality for viewing and subscribing to Community news is similar to that for individual tools/resources. Please refer to the Tool/Resource Feature: News section of this User Guide for more information.

Registered users can submit NITRC Community news to the moderator by clicking the Submit News link at the top of the NITRC Community News page. On the news submission form, enter a title and details for the news bulletin, and then click the "Submit" button. Your news submission will be sent to the site moderator for approval for posting on the NITRC Home page and the NITRC Community News page.

Funding: The Funding Opportunities wiki page lists grants and other funding sources that may be used by the neuroimaging community.

Career Opportunities: NITRC and the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) share a job board of career opportunities. NITRC pulls job listings from INCF's RSS feed and displays them on the NITRC Jobs page. Only the first few lines of the job description are shown (up to 240 characters). Any job description that has been truncated can be viewed by hovering your mouse over the description. Clicking on the job title links will take you to the INCF site for more information. You may submit a job opportunity to the job board by clicking the "Submit Job Posting" button.

Documents: The NITRC Community document manager gives registered users the ability to upload and read documentation that may be of interest to the functional and structural neuroimaging community. Visitors may browse and view approved NITRC Community documents. The NITRC Community document manager functionality is the same as that for individual tools/resources. Please refer to the Tool/Resource Feature: Docs section of this User Guide for more information on how to use the document manager.

Wiki: The NITRC Community wiki gives everyone access to general information important to the functional and structural neuroimaging community. Registered users can contribute to NITRC Community wiki pages. For help with MediaWiki please refer to the MediaWiki Help section of this User Guide.
