Why Rate and Review Tools/Resources
In an effort to make NITRC a comprehensive source of information for researchers and developers in the functional and structural neuroimaging community, the NITRC team strongly encourages your participation through ratings and reviews. Researchers may use the ratings and reviews to determine the tools/resources that might best suit their specific research needs. Tool developers may use the ratings and reviews to target areas for enhancement or modification, making their tools more usable and accessible for all NITRC users.
How To Rate and Review Tools/Resources
Only registered users may provide ratings and reviews of a tool/resource. To provide a rating and review, navigate to a particular tool/resource, click "Reviews/Ratings" in the tool/resource menu, and then click "Contribute Reviews/Ratings" at the top of the page. Select your rating, provide any comments, suggestion, or recommendations, and submit the review. If the tool/resource you are reviewing has several released versions, please indicate the version you are reviewing in appropriate field.
Your association with the review is kept confidential by the NITRC team, but if you are willing to be contacted regarding this review, you should include your username within the comments box before submitting it. Other NITRC users may perform a "People" search with your username to find your user profile, which includes any contact information you have chosen to provide.
How to View Ratings and Reviews
The average overall, installation, and documentation ratings for a tool/resource are shown on its Summary page (click "Summary" in the tool/resource menu) and on the search results pages. On the Summary page a "User Reviews" link is provided to view the individual ratings and reviews submitted by NITRC users. You may also get to the individual ratings and reviews for a tool/resource by clicking the "Reviews/Ratings" link in the tool/resource menu.
On the Display Reviews/Ratings page, the average overall, installation, and documentation ratings are displayed first, including the number of reviews that contributed to each rating. This is followed by all the individual reviews. Tools often update their software, so be sure to check the version of software that has been rated. A tool/resource administrator has the ability to add a comment to each individual review. Check out the administrator comments as they may indicate that a particular problem or concern has been addressed since the review was submitted.
If the tool/resource has any published reviews, there is a "Published Reviews" link next to the "User Reviews" link. Published reviews are scientific journal articles that analyze the functionality of the tool/resource or acknowledge support of the analysis performed in the research study.
