Overall Ease vs. Functionality:  5 out of 5
Download/Installation Ease:  5 out of 5
Documentation/Support Quality:  5 out of 5
Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  This tool is an exceptional example of how to do multi-modal image registration. Its development is well thought out so that the functionality can be easily incorporated in other tools via a single header file + linking to a library, and the command line version and the embedded versions are very closely linked so that debugging is facilitated.

Overall Ease vs. Functionality:  5 out of 5
Download/Installation Ease:  4 out of 5
Documentation/Support Quality:  5 out of 5
Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments:  Overall -- Development versions worked fine.  Installation -- For folks familiar with ITK and how to compile and install those tools, this was consistent. New users will need to learn the download process.  Documentation -- The Insight Journal has a paper about this tool which is very helpful.  Long-term -- Brainsfit is a useful stand-alone registration tool with a free and open license so people can redistribute it with other packages easily. It can also be used as a plugin for 3DSlicer for interactive use, in addition to being scriptable for batch processes.
Other Comments/Similar Tools:  Similar Tool/Resource -- Tools in SPM and FSL have similar registration functionality but SPM requires MATLAB and FSL has a restrictive license.  Tool/Resource Transition -- None
