The field covers three primary areas, database, tools and modeling.  Neuroinformatics Japan Center (NIJC), RIKEN Brain Science Institute was established in 2005 to promote development of Neuroinformatics as the Japan Node of International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF).
