http://www.nitrc.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3820 <p>We invite graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and advanced<br />researchers to participate in the 1st Baltic-Nordic Summer School on<br />Neuroinformatics, to be held at Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas,<br />Lithuania, on May 29-31, 2013. The course is interdisciplinary and is<br />focused on theoretical, experimental, and clinical studies of synaptic<br />plasticity, learning, and memory in the brain, both in health and disease.<br />The course combines lectures and tutorials for computational modeling and<br />analysis of brain functions. The target audience is advanced doctoral<br />students and researchers from various fields of neuroscience interested on<br />how brain computes information, but advanced MSc students may also be<br />considered.<br /><br />Venue:<br /><br />The course will be held in Kaunas, the second-largest city of Lithuania,<br />located in the very heart of the country, on the confluence of two rivers<br />Nemunas and Neris. Kaunas was first mentioned in written sources in 1361,<br />has great Hanza Union traditions since 1445, and was the capital of<br />Lithuania in 1920-1939. Nowadays Kaunas is a city of beautiful architecture,<br />rich cultural, educational, scientific, and business life. The sponsor will provide lodging<br />and meals during the course. The participants are expected to cover their<br />travel and health insurance expenses (travel awards available for those<br />without funding).
