Neuroscience data is highly diverse and fragmented as it is produced worldwide in thousands of different laboratories and facilities. Neuroinformatics aims to enable integration of this data across all levels and scales of neuroscience to help understand the brain and treat disease: Thus, Neuroinformatics entails the development of standards and infrastructure for data acquisition, storage, provenance, sharing, publishing, analysis, visualization, modeling and simulation.
