  <description>November 15-19, 2009
Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China

The 1st Announcement and Call for Papers

For complete information, see http://www.iccn2009.org

Aim
Five decades of brain research have led to the emergence of a new field, which spans the entire spectrum of cognition from synaptic dynamics to
social interactions, and which is combined by the conceptions of nonlinear neurodynamics operating simultaneously at and across all scales. A new
kind of scientists is emerging, schooled in multiple academic disciplines, comfortable in working with data from different levels, and conversant with the mathematical and computational tools that are essential to cross boundaries.

Cognition, in its essence is dynamic and multilayered, and pursuit of new clues inevitably leads from one layer to the next, both reductionist and holistic. A trend to study cognition from the point of view of neurodynamics has emerged as a result of the current, rapid developments taking place in nonlinear dynamics and cognitive science. In order to promote the integration of cognitive science and neurodynamics as a whole, the 2nd International Conference on Cognitive Neurodynamics -2009 (ICCN'09) is organized by East China University of Science &amp; Technology and Zhejiang University to take place in Hangzhou, China November 15-19, 2009. The conference will provide a forum for scientists and engineers working in this exciting area and its related fields to review the latest progress and development, and to exchange their experience, progress and ideas. An Editorial Board Meeting of &quot;Cognitive Neurodynamics&quot; will also be held during the period. The conference will consist of three-day oral and poster presentation, and a one-day city tour on the last day.
