  <title>NITRC News Group Forum: problems-downloading-large-datasets-from-nitrc-ir</title>
  <link>http://www.nitrc.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=9152</link>
<description>It has been brought to our attention that there can be issues when downloading very large datasets from the NITRC-IR (i.e. all data for a project such as F1000 or PING). The current NITRC-IR download uses web technology that will choke ungracefully (after a long time) when attempting such downloads. We have scheduled an upgrade to the XNAT backend of the NITRC-IR for the next scheduled NITRC release (~June) that changes the download for large files to a desktop based client which we expect will alleviate this issue. In the mean time, the work around is to download smaller chunks at a time for large projects . Sorry for the inconvenience.</description>
