SdmPsi GUI spontaneously aborts and does not open anymore
Hello,
I downloaded the new SdmPsi for Mac OS and was able to open it and test run the tutorial data with no issues. However, when I attempted to change the meta-analysis directory to my own data folder, the GUI spontaneously aborted. From then on, I have been unable to even get the GUI to open. When attempting to run the sdm in the terminal, I get the attached error message.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
Best,
Rebecca

RE: SdmPsi GUI spontaneously aborts and does not open anymore
Hi Rebecca,
I am using a windows machine and encountered a similar problem. Everything worked smoothly (also with my own analyses) till I opened one specific folder and afterwards the software aborts and also it was not possible to open it again. I suspect that the problem is the number of studies in the folder of the analyses. At least for me the software opened again as soon as I have deleted this specific folder which was the one with the lowest number of studies and the same happened with another folder with a similar amount of studies. I guess it is some bug in this version at the moment?
Best, Nora

Hi Rebecca, Nora,
I'm Anton Albajes-Eizagirre, part of Sdm Project team.
Could you please send us (antonae@gmail.com) the sdm_table.txt file in the folder where you try to change to?
Thanks,
Anton

RE: SdmPsi GUI spontaneously aborts and does not open anymore
Hi everyone,
In one of the reported cases, the problem was a bug affecting sdm_tables wider than higher (more columns than rows). It is a bug solved in an update pending to be uploaded. In the meantime, it can be workarounded by pruning out of the tables the columns that are not going to be used (you can only use four vars in your model).
In the other of the reported cases, there was a typo in the sdm_table.txt file that provoked the crash.
Hope this helps, best,
Anton

Hi, Anton
I encounterd with the same problem... I am writing to you to ask if the update has been uploaded? And in the present version, is only 4 or <4 columns allowed? Or it doesnot matter how many columns, as long as it's less than the number of rows?
Best,
Chengyu

RE: SdmPsi GUI spontaneously aborts and does not open anymore
Hi Anton,
I'm having a similar problem but it happens whenever I open the sdm_table with my text editor (or Excel) and edit and save it. I've tried using fewer columns than rows but it still happens. Even if I don't change anything, just save it after opening it with my text editor SDM crashes. Could you suggest anything else I could try?
Thank you!
Tania

RE: SdmPsi GUI spontaneously aborts and does not open anymore
Hi Tania,
The problem with the tables 'wider than taller' (more columns than rows) should be fixed in v 6.12. Is you still have the problem, one workaround is to delete the file in the sdm folder, and with the gui create a new one using the editor provided by the gui.
Also, is you want to send us the sdm_table.txt file triggering the crash to antonae@gmail.com we could take a look at it.
Best,
Anton
