Create WM ROI based on 2 or more GM regions
Hi,

My question is:

Is there a way to create a WM ROI based on 2 or more GM regions, e.g., if I use labels from the Desikan atlas like ctx-lh-posteriorcingulate AND ctx-lh-medialorbitofrontal and want to see the tracts that connect these two and then use it as an WM ROI.

I want to be able to define my GM regions based on brain networks (e.g., DMN) and get WM tracts that connect these regions within the DMN.

Hope this makes sense.

Best,
Omar

Dear Omar,

Yes you can certainly do that with the IIT atlas. Please read pages 57-58 of the manual "How to conduct ROI-based analyses in white matter using the IIT Human Brain Atlas". In this chapter we describe 3 approaches that are similar but use different resources of the atlas. What you are looking for is in page 58 under the subsection "Connectome approach".

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
