Significant subnetwork/connection strength
Dear NBS experts,
Hello, this is Jean, and I am currently working on identifying subnetworks/connections for group-difference comparison.
The results of NBS seem great to me, and I want to see the correlational effect between behavioral test and strength of subnetwork for each subject.
However, I am quite confused in calculating strength of subnetworks.
1) To calculate the strength of one connections among suubnetworks, I averaged all the strength that has been extracted from the code presented in the manual (inserting corresponding number of node i and node j).
Here, I want to know how to calculate subnetwork's own strength in one value per each subject.
Should I average all the subnetwork edge values for each subject?
Still confused regarding to the strength issue..
I will wait for further instruction and guidance.
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Jean

RE: Significant subnetwork/connection strength
Hi Jean,
I am not sure if I follow your question entirely.
You can average connectivity strength across all of the connections in a subnetwork and this can certainly be computed separately for each subject. This would yield one value for each subject.
The manual provides instructions on how to list all the connections in a subnetwork (page 30) and list the connectivity strength for a given connection (page 31).
You should be able to combine these two operations and compute an average value for each subject.
