RE: [jist-help forum] B-Spline interpolation vs Windowed Sinc
The b-spline registration module had some problems a while back, but I =
do not know of any current problems... nor have I ever heard of problems =
with any interpolation method. I'll poke around and get back to you.=20

RE: [jist-help forum] B-Spline interpolation
I surveyed the powers that be. I heard the following. I would suggest using the method that makes sense for you. Check to see if the spine interpolation is "too smooth" for you. If it is, use another method.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Good luck!

I have not used B-spline interpolation in MIPAV for years, but the last time I used it, it made the image smoother than linear interpolation. A simple test can reveal if it is working correctly or not.

My understanding is that the cubic splines in MIPAV have a smoothing
effect. ... There are also other interpolation options available
(cubic Lagrangian and others) that work well. My personal view would be
to go with windowed sinc by default, you don't get that many negative
values if you do it before any other processing...
