I have finished shape analysis of lateral ventricle with two different methods (template and non-template). When i looked template and non-template lateral ventricle images on KWMeshVisu, i realize that, have significant differences between two methods. However i read paper, it doesn't matter used with template or non-template shape analysis...

Which method should I use (template or non-template)?

Are you making reference to the use of the mean cohort template as parameterization alignment template (mtemplate in the output filenames) ?? If this is the case, whether or not there are differences between this alignment method and the non-template alignment method really depends on the data you are looking at.


If the shapes are similar, the non-template option should work in a similar fashion to the mtemplate one. If the cohort includes a lot of dismorphology, it is recommended using the mtemplate one, since the non-template one will probably not work.


Could you please provide more details on the application and data used?
