Reduce output png size
Is there any way of reducing the size of the output pngs from
MRIcroGL without using any other programs?

Use MRIcroGL's menu to show the "Preferences", then select the
desired "Bitmap Zoom". Be aware that large bitmap zoom values are
slow to generate and the resulting bitmaps require a lot of disk
space.
