manual (or automated) image segmentation
Hello, I was wondering if there are any Vaa3D plugins to manually segment regions of interest in a 3D dataset? I have a CT scan (black, grey and white) of an appendage and I would like to segment out the different musculature. I am also interested in any plugins that can segment and make a surface automatically using contrast thresholds.
I have looked through the available plug ins and help threads but none seem specific to my query.
Thank you for the assistance.

RE: manual (or automated) image segmentation
There are quite some related plugins under  "Plug-In' --> "Image segmentation" menu. After you get segmented image, you can load into Vaa3D, open 3D View, and click "Surf/Object" --> "Load/Save Surf" --> "Create Surface From Associated Image Channel 1" to generate surfaces.

You can also check our nature protocol paper http://home.penglab.com/papersall/docpdf... (D) Generate, quantify, measure and annotate 3D surface meshes
