MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello, we use 2 independent protocols-

1.IVIM: b=0(NSA=3),10(NSA=3),30(NSA=3),50(NSA=3),75(NSA=3),100(NSA=4),150(NSA=4),200(NSA=4),500(NSA=4),900(NSA=6)
2.Kurtosis: b=0(NSA=1),200(NSA=2),500(NSA=3),750(NSA=4),1000(NSA=5), 1500(NSA=7), 2000(NSA=8)
For all b we use 3 gradient`s directions.

Is it possible to use MITK Diffusion to analysing it? Because I have a problem with it.

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Jakub,

This forum is for DKE, not MITK. If you would like to use our software, DKE requires 15 directions for each b-value unless you make other assumptions for an underdetermined system.

Thank you,

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Corrine,

thank you for response. It`s my mistake- I would like to use DKE of course.
1) Have you any manual to configure DKE with other assumptions?
2) The protocol of DKI with 15 directions for each b-value isnt useful in clinical study (too long study time), why do you use it so?

Best regards,
Jakub Jasieniak

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Jakub,

We do not currently have a manual for configuring DKE with other assumptions, but the following page gives a brief explanation of the theory as well as some example protocols. You will see that we have a DKI protocol that takes under 6 minutes.

I have also attached a paper that you may find useful.

Thanks for using DKE!

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Corrine,

thank you. I see that you use only 1 NSA for each b-value, what about the quality of the image for high b-value? We have a lot of trouble to getting a good quality for high b-value, so we use NSA>1 (for example b=2000, NSA=8)- without that, we  get a completely black images.

Can you send me an example of images for b=2000 and NSA=1?

Best regards,
Jakub Jasieniak

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Jakub,

We've been acquiring decent data with b-values up to 10000. What kind of scanner are you using?

See example data on the page below.

RE: MITK Diffusion and our protocol
Hello Carine,

we use Skyra 3T. I have one more question: do you use your protocol of DKI for head study only? Because I`m looking for an example abdomen`s protocols of DKI.

Thanks,
Jakub Jasieniak

Hello Jakub,

We mainly study MR images of the brain. I have attached a paper that you may find useful.

Thanks,
