NeuroMorpho.Org v7.6 (100k edition) released November 27, 2018
Dear colleagues,

We're excited to announce the November 27 release of Version 7.6 of NeuroMorpho.Org, which passed the landmark milestone of 100,000 publicly shared digital reconstructions. The project launched in 2006 with 1000 neurons, took 10 years to reach 50k, and more than doubled in the past 24 months. Perhaps as remarkably, a whopping 80% of the published data were shared in 2018 (from a mere 10% at inception), and for the first time more than half of all the digital reconstructions of neuronal and glial morphology ever described in the scientific literature are now freely available online. Please visit the What's new page for details on added data, metadata, and literature coverage. We are continuously grateful to all data contributors eager to share their hard-won tracings with the community. We appreciate any and all feedback andcomments. Our apologies if you receive multiple versions of this message through cross-listing. Sincerely,
The NeuroMorpho.Org team
