Postdoctoral position in MR Elastography in NYC
The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY, in collaboration with the Rudi Schulte Research Institute and Montefiore Medical Center, is seeking a full-time postdoctoral research associate to work in a new program focusing on MR Elastography in pediatric hydrocephalus. Our lab is interested in understanding the role which brain elasticity plays in disease progression and the occurrence of chronic headache, as it relates to CSF drainage disorders and slit ventricle syndrome. The position is available immediately.

Qualifications include: PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline, a strong MR physics background, expertise in image processing and data analysis. Programming experience should include the commonly used packages for image processing, such as C++, Matlab, and FSL. The candidate should have significant experience in imaging in a clinical setting and a strong background in the development and/or application of novel methods for human brain imaging, such as DTI / fMRI / structural MRI data analyses. Prior experience with MR Elastography is not necessary, but candidates with such experience will be given preference. The candidate will be expected to be involved in all aspects of the project, including image and data analysis, statistical analysis, sequence and hardware design, , as well as interfacing with the clinical team. The Gruss MRRC is located on the main campus of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. The Center has a multinuclear 3.0 Tesla Whole Body Philips Elition human system and a 9.4 T Direct Drive Varian animal system.
