different results depending on setup
I haven't been able to find this elsewhere on the forum so I hope I'm not repeating a question, but my question is:
I initially ran a project in which the subjects included each belonged to one of three groups. At the second level I looked at the relationship between connectivity and time using a drug a) across all subjects together (all subjects, Months of Use [0 1]), b) between the three groups (Group A Group B Group C Mos Use A Mos Use B Mos use C [0 0 0 1 -1 0; 0 0 0 0 1 -1]), and c) within one group at a time (Group A, Months of Use [0 1]). Is it appropriate/possible to look at all of these contrasts within the same project? I'm concerned, because when I ran a new project with only one of the groups included, my results looking at the relationship between connectivity and months of use within that one group (all subjects, months of use [0 1]) differed from the results of the other project (Group A, Months of use [0 1]).
