[Neurobureau-hubs] Brainhack 2012 and brainhack.org updates

Hi Clare,

At the moment, I think it will be too much of a headache to deal with setting up a server at the MPI for open use at the conference -- better to have people plan ahead with their own remote computational resources. I imagine we can have all the datasets available for download from a local machine though, which should speed things up a bit.

Thanks for asking -- we should certainly clarify all this on the webpage and in preparatory emails to the attendees.

If you have any ideas about useful and feasible resources though, please let me know, and I can bring it up with IT.

Cameron, Pierre, any thoughts on cbrain possibilities?

Thanks,
Daniel

You can either add the post directly or use the "+submit a new project" form to submit the project and I will add it. Please do this as soon as possible, we are hoping to lead by example and set the tone for what we expect at the brainhack. Maarten has already come up with a cool project to develop a tool to automate the generation of figures. Other possible ideas include data-mining the neurosynth database, applying your favorite regularized covariance estimation to the estimating connectomes, or even just performing freesurfer on the ADHD-200 data. Let me know if you would like any help coming up with a project idea, or if you have any problems adding the project to the brainhack.org site.
