[Neurobureau-hubs] art@HBM crowdfunding

Folks,

I agree with Pierre. At 600-700 dollars for a brain scan in some centers, not to mention potential administrative headaches, I would avoid the personal brain scan thing. As for stays at hubs - there are safety issues, plus unlimited? Watch what you commit to.

Why not do some video-chat with a neuroscientist thing - give them an hour talk with a neurobureau member to learn about the connectome and/or have their questions answered (that would be for more substantial donations).

Best,
M

I like the idea of the brain scans and connectomes, and I thought about it, but I am afraid this may be too difficult to put together. It's difficult to price and there may be some ethical issues here (do we need ethics approval for this ?). I have been on the cautious side for that first attempt, with a target of 6500$. Check out the perks on the draft of the project.

Because we are short of budget this year, and also out of curiosity, I have started to work on a crowdfunding page on http://www.indiegogo.com/ . Noah huffton, who runs the http://thebeautifulbrain.com/, is curating the show this year and helped film and edit a video. I am now working on the description and perks (the little rewards you get when you donate to the project).
