Detailed description

A transparent picture background gets translated to black when converted to a thumbnail.  For example:

DataLad logo I have uploaded has a transparent background. It shows
nicely when I preview the full image at
https://www.nitrc.org/project/list_scree...
and
https://www.nitrc.org/project/screenshot...
but its "thumbnail"
https://www.nitrc.org/project/screenshot...
has black background.

Maybe we should at least convert the background to white so that it appears properly?
