Thank you for the excerpt. I agree that the principles and practice of open source should carry over to data acquisition, curation and development, and dissemination. I am starting to work with collaborators on an open data project where manually labeled brain images, prior to their public release, will soon become viewable online and will enable viewers to give feedback about the accuracy of individual labels. The project is called brainCOLOR for "Collaborative Open Labeling Online Resource" (http://www.braincolor.org). As we add functionality to the website, we would appreciate any feedback.
