Long Description:

A software developer position in medical image analysis is available at the Section of Biomedical Image Analysis (SBIA), of the Department of Radiology, University of Pennsylvania. SBIA has been a dynamically growing medical image analysis group, including 30 researchers and many collaborators from diverse fields.

The successful candidate should have a bachelor or master in Computer Science, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Strong programming experience in C++ and familiarity with ITK and VTK are highly desirable. The hire would support SBIA's efforts in developing open-source software for medical image analysis. We are currently creating a state-of-the-art annotation tool for medical images called miAnnotation and adopting an automatic segmenter called EMSegmenter to a wide variety of segmentation tasks in medical imaging. We are developing these tools to reduce the technical barriers in using state of the art algorithms in clinical research and exploration.
