I'm currently performing data analysis on a Mac system, but I've noticed abnormal GUI behavior. I'm using a Mac with an M4 chip, MATLAB 2025b, SPM 25, and the latest version of the ConnToolbox. Please help me identify the cause and how I should resolve this issue.
Hi,
Thanks for reporting this. This was an issue with some of the changes introduced in Matlab R2025a which switched Matlab's graphics system to use JavaScript and HTML instead of Java. Using the latest CONN release (25b just released) should fix those issues, but please let us know if you still run into any strange GUI behavior.
Best
Alfonso

Hello,
I'm also experiencing a possible GUI abnormality. When loading CONN today, the GUI background image is no longer solid black. Instead, it is multi-colored (see attached image). When I used it several weeks ago, the background image was black. Is this expected behavior? Since we support multi-year MRI studies, we have been using the same version of CONN (22.a) for the past several years.
Below is additional system information:
OS: Rocky Linux 8 (4.18.0-553.111.1.el8_10.x86_64)
CONN 22.a with SPM12 and MATLAB R2023a.
Thanks,
Eddie
I encountered the same rainbow background today and it appears the answer is hidden in conn.m:
I am sure it will be back to it's normal background tomorrow ;-)
Dang, I should have skipped work yesterday. Well done CONN! :-)
