2010 FSL & FreeSurfer Course, Heidelberg, Germany, May 31 - June 4, 2010
We are pleased to announce the 2010 FSL & FreeSurfer course in Heidelberg, Germany. It will run immediately before the Human Brain Mapping conference, which will be in Barcelona - a 2-hour flight from the Heidelberg area. The intensive course covers both the theory and practice of functional and structural brain image analysis. Background concepts and the practicalities of analyses are taught in detailed lectures; these are interleaved with hands-on practical sessions where attendees learn how to carry out analysis for themselves on real data, with one computer provided for every two attendees. After completing the course, attendees should be able to analyse their own FMRI and MRI data sets. For more information and to register, go to: http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fslcourse/heid...

Default Mode Network, Barcelona, Spain, June 4-5, 2010
This meeting will take place in Barcelona on the 4th and 5th of June. It will bring together leading researchers on the default mode network, and will provide a forum for sharing the latest information on the rapid evolving knowledge in the field. There will be keynote speeches from Marcus Raichle and Michael Greicius, and sessions will be devoted to recent advances in understanding of the default mode network, changes across the lifespan (including aging and age-related neurodegenerative disorders), and the default mode network in a range of psychiatric disorders. Connectivity and other brain networks will be also part of the programme. For more information, go to: http://www.defaultmodenetwork.com/

Hyper Interaction Viability Experiments (HIVE) 2010, Barcelona, Spain, June 11, 2010
HIVE 2010 is a free 1-day workshop organized by the EU funded project HIVE (http://www.hive-eu.org/). The subject of our workshop is non-invasive brain stimulation and it's applicability to therapy and communication. The HIVE project entails the development of multi-scale biophysical models (forward and inverse), new experiments with tDCS, TMS, fMRI, real-time EEG, BCI, and neurofeedback, toward the development of multi-site cranial stimulation technologies. We encourage researchers working these areas to submit abstracts. Keynote speakers this year are: Alvaro Pascual-Leone, Niels Birbaumer, and Demetrios Velis. For more information and to register, please go to: http://www.hive-eu.org/hive2010/home.

g.tec's BCI Workshop, Palau De Congresos, Barcelona, Spain, June 9, 2010
g.tec invites you to participate in our brain-computer interface (BCI) workshop on June 9, 2010 during the 2010 OHBM Conference in Barcelona, Spain. The workshop will be located at the Palau De Congresos in Room B3. A BCI is a direct communication pathway between the brain and an external device. Such BCI systems use either the EEG, the ECoG or single spike activity as input signals. These signals are amplified and digitized and are transmitted to a computer system for signal processing. On the computer parameter estimation and classification algorithms as well as an experimental paradigm have to work in real-time. Applications range from spelling, wheelchair control, robot control to Virtual Reality control. For more information, please visit http://www.gtec.at/profile/BCI_WS_Brainm...

Focus on EEG/fMRI, free training workshop offered by EGI, Palau De Congresos, Barcelona, Spain, June 7, 2010
This workshop will include discussions on phase lock loops, system clocks, achieving quality EEG data using only a 1kHz sampling rate, safety and practical issues of joint recording, and current EEG/fMRI research. The workshop will be located at the Palau De Congresos in Sala A.

Speakers include:
- Don Tucker PhD, CEO and Chief Scientist, EGI
- Mark Cohen PhD, Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, UCLA
- Phan Luu PhD, Chief Technology Officer, EGI
- Additional speakers to be named.

5th FMRI Analysis Workshop with AFNI and SUMA, Pisa, Italy, May 31 - June 4, 2010
The Department of Information Engineering, the Clinical Biochemistry Lab and the Chair of General Psychology of the University of Pisa, with the patronage of the "G. Monasterio" Foundation and the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the Italian National Research Council, are organizing the 5th FMRI Analysis Workshop with AFNI and SUMA. The course will be held in Pisa, Italy from Monday May 31st to Friday June 4th, 2010. This is a course designed to cover basic and advanced topics of volume- and surface-based FMRI analyses using AFNI and SUMA software (http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/). fMRI in Children: Imaging for the Next Generation, Palau De Congresos, Barcelona, Spain, June 7, 2010
Philips fMRI Lunch Symposium
Monday, June 7th, 13.30 - 14.45
Palau De Congresos, Room H1-H2, Level -1

During this year’s 16th Annual Meeting of OHBM, Philips Healthcare will be organizing a Lunch Symposium on Monday, June 7th. Two internationally-renowned speakers will be presenting their view on fMRI in children. Prof. Dr. Henning Böcker will share his experience on Neonatal fMRI and Dr. Stewart Mostofsky MD will give a presentation on impaired formation of action models in autism: behavioral and imaging evidence.

Philips Healthcare is one of the worlds leading suppliers of imaging equipment. We are proud to be a part of the 16th Annual Meeting of OHBM as a bronze sponsor. In the world of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, we have brought about many 'firsts': Philips MR systems were the first to enable parallel acquisition technology – SENSE, the first to feature patient-friendly short-bore magnets and the first to deliver a commercial system with parallel RF transmit – MultiTransmit.

We are excited to present this inspiring program – with a complimentary lunch for the first 250 guests – and look forward to your participation. See you in Barcelona soon!
