Dear all, a very naive question:

I have anatomical mri images of 40 subjects, and I want to preprocess them in SPM, using DARTEL.

Does it change something if I preprocess in the same folder/batch 20 subjects together and then I preprocess the other 20 subjects in another computer?

I mean, is it important that I preprocess all the 40 subjects together, putting them in the same folder?

(This question comes because of the "dartel template", which is a group specific template that will be generated from the subjects I am preprocessing)

It doesn't matter to execute the program on different machines. The only thing that need to take into account is you should use same version of the tool and its associated function values.

If the version and the fuction values are same, the output will be same.
