I have quite a few studies using talairach space with SPM.  But the latest version does not seem to take spm_tal.txt.  Any suggestions?

My impression is that most SPM studies reporting coordinates in Talairach space converted the coordinates using the Brett conversions, and thus their peaks should be saved in a *.spm_brett.txt file.

That said, there is of course the possibility that a recent study has converted the coordinates from MNI to Talairach space using newer approaches. If that was really the case, you may convert the coordinates back to MNI using the web utility at http://www.sdmproject.com/utilities/?show=Coordinates, and then save the peaks in a *.spm_mni.txt file.
