VBM and MRI coordinates
Hi,
Could I use VBM and MRi coordinates in a single study? Or is it possible just for MRI and PET coordinates?
Thank you so much for you help.
Best regards
Roberta

RE: VBM and MRI coordinates
Dear Roberta, I'm sorry I think I could not understand your
question. Are you trying to conduct a meta-analysis of VBM and
fMRI?

RE: VBM and MRI coordinates
I'm sorry,
I'm trying to conduct a meta-analysis (as degree's thesis) for study the differents neural correlates between male and female with avoidant attachment.
So I have ten studies: eight have fMRI coordinates and two VBM coordinates and I would try to make a meta-regression.
Do I have to find other 2 studies or could I use all ten studies toghether?
Thank you for reply.
Best regards.

RE: VBM and MRI coordinates
Dear Roberta,
I would suggest to discard the two VBM studies, given that they are too few for a meta-analysis. Please note that fMRI and VBM studies are not the same: functional and structural abnormalities may not overlap, or patients may have failures of deactivation (detected as patients > controls) in regions with decreased gray matter (detected the other way round: as patients < controls).
Please note however that eight studies may also be too few, thought this may depend on whether you could obtain SPMs as well as on the true effect size of the comparison.

Thank you for reply.
So I try to find other two studies in order to replace them.
Thank you very much for help.
