Dear expert, 

I am doing a group analysis for two dichotomous moderators (i.e., binary independents, one for instance is 'gender', 1 vs 0) with one of those two independents as covariate for the other. 

My questions are (1) Is this a valid analysis (I don't see why not, maybe there is a power problem with  k=14 studies) and (2) as I understand (not explicitly mentioned in the manual) SDM then generates contrasts maps with the following logical code:
10m00
10m01
etc

Am I correct that if I want to look at the effect of the first predictor controlling for the second, I need to look at 10m00?

the analysis is valid, and as you say, the effect of the first predictor controlling for the second is shown at 10m00. That being said, the number of studies is a bit limited for fitting two moderators, so I would take the results with some caution unless they are clearly significant.
