Bioimagesuite 3.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.10.2
I am trying to run the BioImagesuite Spect processing tool on Mac. Installation appears fine but I am having problems with the SPECT processing using the ISAS sample patient data. Have reoriented the images and loaded to datatree but rigid registration fails stating 'bad inputs' and when I try to load image to reference viewer it crashes with 'error: xp_attach_gl_context returned: 2
X Error of failed request: 0
Major opcode of failed request: 150 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 26 (X_GLXMakeContextCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 46548
Current serial number in output stream: 46548'
in the terminal window.
I see a message about this problem from Nov 2013 but can't see how/if it got sorted. There is comment that it may be an issue with later versions of OS X running in 64 bit but I don't think this should be a problem as OS X should be able to run 32 bit applications.
Any help gratefully accepted.

Interesting. What OS/XQuartz version are you at?

I am using OSX 10.10.2 and XQuartz 2.7.7.
The versions are all most recent.
Thanks

Martin,

Please send me a step-by-step procedure that causes this crash, and we will try to replicate and fix.

Thanks

RE: Bioimagesuite 3.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.10.2
I am following the ISAS bioimagesuite instructions
I boot the bis gui and then go to data tree-data tree manager.
File-switch the directory
Tools-SPECT processing tool-make tree
ictal spect-set filename
interictal spect-set filename
Set interictal spect as space and anatomical image
Set ictal spect as functional image
Everything seems to work fine up to this stage - as an aside does it matter if using analyze or nifty files and if analyse does it matter if using .hdr or .img. I have tried all 3 and have the same issue.
Then when I click RF viewer to send the anatomical image to the reference viewer it crashes.
If I try to omit this step and go straight to Registation-Registration-Linear Registration then the registration fails with bad inputs
I wondered if is worthwhile to try with the 3.2 Beta version.
Best wishes
Martin

Sure. Try the 3.2 version, there were no changes to the SPECT code in that. Let us know what happens.

Martin. I am able to replicate your issue, I will try to debug a bit and see, it might take a few days unfortunately as I am away the next 2-3 days.

RE: Bioimagesuite 3.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.10.2
Quick update: This is an Xquartz/10.10 issue, it works fine on 10.8, it is a little unstable on 10.9 and dies immediately on 10.10. This is a generic problem with windows opening with a GL viewer inside them on Xquartz unfortunately and nothing particular about our code.

Let me do some more testing at this point but this might take a while. Sorry. Xenios
