Comparison and contrast of different human brain atlases
Hello NITRC community,
I am a first year neuroscience graduate student and as a newbie into human neuroimaging, I would appreciate any and all feedback to my question. Thank you in advance!
Q1. Is there a review paper on the different atlases currently available?
Q2. How different are the ROIs based on the atlases?
I have noticed that there are different atlases to choose ROIs from. For the ABCD study itself there seems to be 4 atlases: Fischl, et al., 2002; Desikan, et al., 2006; Destrieux, et al., 2010; Hagler, et al., 2009. And from what I understand, many researchers use the Harvard-Oxford Atlas or the Johns Hopkins atlas. So I am assuming that we will have to unify the ROIs to compare results from different datasets, but I am wondering if there is the option to interchange ROIs from different atlases as well.
Best,
Gaon
