RE: Issue with NYU and WashU Phenotypic csv files
Hello Paramveer,
This question might be more appropriate for the INDI forum (http://www.nitrc.org/forum/forum.php?for...) since they organized all of the phenotypic data, but I will try to help:
I think that the handedness question has been answered on the INDI forum (http://www.nitrc.org/forum/forum.php?thr...). To summarize, NYU uses the Edinburgh handedness inventory which ranges from -1 for lefties to 1 for righties, and values close to 0 indicate ambidextrous. From what I understand from this scale, it is more likely for a right handed person to score close to a 1 than for a left handed person to score a -1. I.E. left handed people tend to use their non-dominant hand more that righties. There might be some subjects that have a handedness of 3 which is a typo, and should be a 2.
From what I understand some of the datasets have only TDC and no ADHD. I am expecting that the "test" datasets that will be released on July will include mostly ADHD. This creates a unique wrinkle for the competition.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Cameron
