Notes:
BrainNet Viewer 2.0.0-beta.1
BrainNet Viewer 2.0 public beta provides MATLAB Desktop, Python
Desktop, and a Docker-hosted Web edition. Load brain surfaces,
networks and volumetric maps; configure Visualization Settings;
Apply, interact, and export.
The MATLAB edition modernizes the application interface and
removes the SPM requirement from supported NIfTI/GIfTI reading.
Python Desktop does not require MATLAB. Docker runs the Web
application in the background, accessed through a browser on local
port 1031.
Capabilities include multi-view surface rendering, node and edge
controls, statistical volume-to-surface mapping, atlas ROI
visualization, AAL/Brodmann Inspect, display presets, portable
Scene saving, figure export and surface tools. Downloads include
the original surface library, updated atlas-network examples, the
shared English manual and illustrated tutorials. Example
connections were generated from resting-state fMRI data from a
group of adult healthy participants.

without overwriting an older installation. Follow the included
edition-specific instructions, then the shared manual and
tutorials.
Installation
For MATLAB, open the extracted package root as Current Folder
and run app = BrainNetViewer;.
For Python, use a separate virtual environment and install the
wheel with the desktop extra. Windows and Intel Mac support Python
3.10 or 3.11; Apple Silicon requires native ARM64 Python 3.11 or
later, with 3.11 used for verification. Follow the supplied
platform-specific fixed dependency instructions; do not copy
virtual environments between computers. The Python package version
is 2.0.0b1.
For Web, use the English (https://github.com/mingruixia/BrainNet-V...) or
Chinese Docker guide (https://github.com/mingruixia/BrainNet-V...).
Pull mingruixia/brainnet-viewer:2.0.0-beta.1 for Linux/amd64 or
Linux/arm64, start its container, and open http://127.0.0.1:1031/index.html. Docker must remain
running. Do not use latest for this beta.
Scope and support
The Web beta is for local single-user use with software
rendering. Do not expose it to a LAN or the Internet; it does not
provide authentication or isolated multi-user sessions. Save and
verify your portable Scene download before stopping or updating the
container. Figure export downloads the image and provenance file
separately. Checked environments and edition differences are
documented; they do not imply support for every hardware
configuration or dataset.
Report problems in GitHub Issues (https://github.com/mingruixia/BrainNet-V...), including
edition, version, operating system and reproduction steps. Share
only data you are permitted to disclose.
