Point-of-Care Device for Acute Neurologic Emergencies Posted By: David Kennedy - Dec 8, 2010Tool/Resource: NITRC Community Funding Opportunity - Point-of-Care Device Technologies for Acute Neurologic Emergencies The NIBIB-supported Point-of-Care Center for Emerging Neuro Technologies (POC-CENT) announces an exploratory research program of $400,000 in Fiscal Year 2011 to fund exploratory research projects focused on the development of novel point-of-care technologies for addressing clinical needs in the area of diagnosis for acute neurologic emergencies. Applicants are encouraged to consider technologies that would enable early diagnosis of acute neurologic events including diagnosis in the field and/or during transport to a medical facility. The overall goal is to develop new and emerging technologies that focus on detection of seizures and intracranial hemorrhage as diagnostic and prognostic indicators in acute neurological emergencies such as, but not limited to, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, cerebral contusions, and non-convulsive seizures. The Center will support project proposals supporting early stage device development activities. The solicitation can be found here: http://www.ece.uc.edu/POC-CENT/funding/c... |
