NBS problem
Hi all,

I have a question about NBS. I've been using it for some time now and since this morning each time I try to use it, it gives me the error message: " Stop: Design Matrix not found or inconsistent" ! I am using the same data and design matrix and I can't figure out what's wrong since I've successfully ran NBS before with the same options and data! I even double-checked the format of the data and design matrices and it seems fine! Does anyone know what might be going on? I really appreciate any help.

Thanks a lot,
-Mojdeh

RE: NBS problem
Hi Mojdeh,

I have no idea! Perhaps try downloading the NBS package again and re-installing it. Make sure that the pre-loaded schizophrenia example works when you re-install.

The usual reason for this error is that the design matrix does not have the same number of rows as the number of subjects/samples in your study. It might be worth double checking this as well.

RE: NBS problem
Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply! I tried re-installing NBS and I still get the same error! I can run the NBS example successfully ... this is very strange, since I was running NBS with the same data and design matrices before and never got errors and when I look at the dimension of the .mat file in Matlab all the dimension agree. I have attache two of my design and data matrice and would appreciate if you could take a look at them and see if you can find what might be wrong.

Thanks again,
-Mojdeh

RE: NBS problem
Hi Mojdeh,

I just tried your data on my desktop PC running NBS v1.2 on Matlab 2013a.

Everything works ok. You have a significant result (p<0.01) for the [-1 1] contrast using a t-test and a threshold of 2.5

I don't know why it is not working on your computer. I suggest shortening the names of the files and not using an underscore or dash in the file name. Just call then "data.mat" and "design.mat". If this does not work, I suggest installing the NBS on a different computer or trying a different version of Matlab. It could be that you are using an old version of Matlab.

RE: NBS problem
Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply! I just copied the same files to a new location and NBS worked fine! weird since it's not even a permission issue as I checked all files had the right permission. I suspect everytime I save the NBS results in the same directory as the files and try to run NBS again it gives me errors!
