As neuroimaging research continues to grow, dynamic neuroinformatics systems are necessary to store, retrieve, mine and share the massive amounts of data. The Collaborative Informatics and Neuroimaging Suite (COINS) has been created to facilitate communication and cultivate a data community. It is a web-based management system to collect, store, and share assessment and neuroimaging data. Specializing in custom assessment collection tools, DICOM image file and meta data transfer, and granular sharing and querying capabilities. Built with participant privacy protections at the forefront, with tools to safely managing both identifying and non-identifying participant data. COINS manages over 1,000 studies and their data at the Mind Research Network, the Nathan Kline Institute, University of Colorado – Boulder, the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center at Hartford Hospital, and many other sites.
