Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments: | The version installed of MRtrix v0.2.10 run successfully on a win 7 64bit with 4-core processor. As described in the documentation, by using the mrtrix.conf file in the user folder, all the commands are esecuted using all the four processors.

Other Comments/Similar Tools: | The MRview ROI-drawing-tool need to be improved, by adding, for example a fill tool.
I suggest for MRview to have a orthogonal view with openGL 3D-rotational capabilites. |

Other Comments/Similar Tools: | Love MRTrix. Just one hiccup so far. We have Siemens Skyra data which stores 3D DTI datasets in 4 dimensions (ie for an image that's 200 x 200 x 100, it stores it as 200 x 200 x 1 x 100). MRTrix fails on this dataset (I assume it's the dimensionality, but I could definitely be wrong). The error returned is
Assertion failed: (!gsl_nan(distance)), function operator<, file lib/file/dicom/image.cpp, line 191.
Abort trap: 6
I managed to process the data by manually extracting the b vector and values from the dicom headers, reading the data into Matlab and exporting as NIfTI.
Ta!

Ratings/Long-term Prospects Comments: | It's mostly command-line based; but also comes with a viewer to show all outputs.
The command-line tools make it easy to perform heavy and big batch jobs on a cluster, using for instance gridengine. Multi-threading, especially for the fiber tracking, is a huge plus! |
