Interpretation of second level analysis
Hello,

I would like to examine the effect of age on functional connectivity within a specific brain network.
I have created the second level covariates 'Control' and 'AgeControl'. Then, in the second level analysis I have set [0 1] in the Between subjects contrast.

In that context, would any change in functional connectivity be correlated with age? For instance, if there is an increase in connectivity between region A and B, would it mean that the strength of connectivity between region A and B increases with age (?).
Also, the covariate 'AgeControl' contains raw data (e.g. 10, 11, 14, 10 etc.). Is it correct or do I need to 'center' the data?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Kind regards,
Hugo

RE: Interpretation of second level analysis

Hello!

I realize this is an older post but I am trying to run this same type of analysis and I have not found answers on this forum yet.

Is the correct contrast for analyzing the effect of age on connnectivity within a group: Select GroupA and Age_GroupA and use the contrast [0, 1] ?

Should Age_GroupA be mean-centered, and if so, do I use AllSubjects or GroupA to center it?

Thank you for any and all clarification!

Best,

Madison
