AAL atlas

Dear all,

I know the default atlas.nii of the CONN toolbox is a combination of the HOA atlas (cortical and subcortical regions) and the AAL atlas (cerebellar regions). However, compared to the ROI-to-ROI matrices for the cerebellar ROIs of the default atlas, I found that the CONN toolbox generates different matrices when I imported the AAL3 atlas, such as AAL3v1_1mm.nii and ROI_MNI_V7.nii. For example, the correlation between the left and right Cerebellum_Crus1 would be different if I use different atlases (e.g., the default atlas.nii vs. AL3v1_1mm.nii)

Does anyone know what makes the difference?

In addition, I noticed that the default atlas is shown as a 3D brain, while the imported atlases are shown as 2D brain slices. I'm wondering if it will make any difference.

Best regards,

Chih-Hao
